The information contained on this page is intended for use with the mtm2 demo only. Do not use the methods outlined here on a full game install. Following these instructions will extend the capabilities of the demo so that it will permit the use of addon tracks and trucks that have not been podzipped.

Part 1. The files

Step 1. Download the demo from one of the following links:

Part 2. Installation

Step 6. Install the demo by double clicking the MtM2trial.EXE file. Note. It is a good idea to remove the word 'trial' from the install path. (Run the game to be sure it works).

Part 3. Preparation

Step 7. Double click the registry file, or manually add the following lines to the windows registry:

Note 1. If you did not install to the default location, you must adjust the "InstalledPath" to match your system.

Note 2. The reg file uses double slashes in the InstalledPath.

Step 8. Create a new text file in the mtm2 folder and rename the file to pod.ini and then copy and paste the following into the pod.ini file you just created. Don't forget to save. Do not unmount or delete these files or your game won't work.

Step 9. Copy bigfoot.pod and smackw32.dll to the mtm2 folder, and rename Monsterx.EXE to Monster.EXE

Part 4. The upgrade

Step 10. Install the patch by double clicking the Mtm2pat.exe file. Enjoy expanded functionality in mtm2.

Part 5. Extra

Because some addons are podzipped (have stock files removed), you should download and permanently mount at least the following tracks. If you do not know how to install addon tracks then please review the instructions here.
